We are currently looking for an Alternative Provision Teacher to start ASAP at a secondary school in the High Peak area for children with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH).

The Role

  • Alternative Provision Teacher at secondary school in the High Peak area for children with SEMH needs.
  • Teaching Maths & Science. Children working at low levels.
  • Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:00pm.
  • Start ASAP, could turn perm for the right person.
  • Excellent pay up to £230/day DOE.
  • Paid PAYE via Tradewind. We don't use umbrella companies.
  • Equal pay to what the school would pay you on contract from the 13th week onwards.
  • Accesible by car and train.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Secondary Teacher of Maths or Science.
  • You will need positive & confident classroom management skills.
  • You must be able to differentiate lessons to the differing needs & levels of students.
  • Students will be of mixed ability, age and backgrounds.
  • You will need to work closely with your TAs to managing challenging behaviour while engaging, motivating & building strong relationships with your pupils.
  • You will also need to collaborate with school management, parents and outside professionals.
  • Candidates who have worked as a Maths Teacher, Science Teacher, SEMH Teacher, PRU Teacher or Secondary Teacher across multiple subjects invited to apply.

The School

  • Secondary SEMH school in the High Peak area for children aged 11-16.
  • All students have an EHCP for Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs, SEMH.
  • Class sizes of no more than 8 pupils including TA support.
  • Students academic attainment is at lower levels than expected for their age.
  • Experienced & supportive management.
  • Collaborative teamwork atmosphere.
  • Easily accessible by car, bus or train.
