We are currently seeking a dedicated Senior Residential Social Care Worker to join our team.

This role involves providing high-quality care and support to young people with EBD in a residential setting. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with other staff to create a nurturing and safe environment that promotes

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 care for young people, addressing their complex emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Ensure the physical, health, and social needs of the young people are met in a supportive environment.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals, including the Registered Manager and senior staff, to maintain high-quality care standards.
  • Supervise and undertake keyworking responsibilities, particularly for more complex cases, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies.
  • Develop, implement, and review care plans, considering the wishes and feelings of the young people and their families.
  • Promote educational opportunities and achievements by supporting young people in accessing educational resources and participating in educational reviews.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with external agencies, families, and the community to enhance outcomes for the young people.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the assessment and appraisal of team members.
  • Actively participate in shift work, including 24-hour shifts and weekends.

  • Holidays starting at 27 days + 8 bank holidays, rising to 30 days + 8 bank holidays after 5 years, and 33 days + 8 bank holidays after 10 years.

Additional Payments

  • Sleep in payment of £96.00 per sleep
  • Enhanced pay for weekend shifts - 25% added to your hourly rate of pay (£17.65 per hour)

Requirements:

  • Level 3 in Children & Young People.
  • A current clean driving license.
  • Significant childcare experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Ability to adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to meet clinical, physical, and emotional needs.
  • Flexibility to respond to the needs of the unit and young people.
  • Ability to motivate, supervise, and appraise staff, ensuring that training and development needs are met.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high standard of oral and written English - ability to write reports and chair meetings.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills for managing staff rotas.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Understanding of the Children Act 2004.
  • Awareness of the issues affecting looked-after young people.
  • Passion for contributing to the development of services for children and young people.
