Randstad are recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join Stockport Council's Connected Carers Team. This is a full time role, offering a fantastic pay rate of £35 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Background in safeguarding children and working with families and have excellent assessment skills, keeping the child's needs central.
  • A passion for safeguarding children and understanding of fostering legislation, as well as an ability to work with partner agencies is essential.
  • Direct experience of completing assessments with families, supporting and supervising connected foster carers is essential.
  • You will be welcomed into a friendly, stable and experienced team of social workers within the fostering service.
  • Will be responsible for a caseload of complex cases.
  • Duty cover.
  • Completing Court directed and PLO Viability Assessments and Reg 24 Assessments.
  • Completing Form C Assessments.
  • Supporting and supervising connected carers.
  • Participate in the planning / reviewing of cases.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with service users, their families and carers.
  • Provide advice and support and promote independence and early intervention, as necessary.
  • Liaise with colleagues in own or other departments or external agencies to gather relevant information for assessment and care planning activities.

Requirements:

  • Social Work Degree or equivalent
  • Current registration with Social Work England
  • Enhanced DBS
