Behaviour Support Assistant needed in the Stockport area.

Role Overview:

  • Start ASAP!
  • Full time & long term.
  • Hours are 8:30am-3:30pm
  • Temporary-to-permanent for the right person.
  • Great pay up to £100/day.
  • Supporting secondary aged pupils in small groups with Special Needs, including Social, Emotional difficulties that can result in challenging behaviours.
  • Based at a secondary special needs school in the Stockport area catering for young people aged 11-19 with significant and Complex Needs.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant at this SEND high school in the Stockport area you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning but also emotional, pastoral and social needs. This secondary special needs school specialises in catering for children who may face significant and Complex Needs obstacles to learning and provide a holistic and inclusive learning environment that promotes children taking an active role in their own development.

  • Providing support on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
  • Assisting students with literacy, numeracy, and general subject knowledge
  • Supporting individuals with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties
  • Assisting those with mental health needs and anxiety
  • Provide holistic support based around social, emotional, behavioural, physical, mental & academic progress.
  • Collaborating with the SEN team, senior leaders, heads of departments, parents and carers, social workers, and other professionals in the child's multidisciplinary team

Requirements:

To succeed in this Behaviour Support Assistant role, you must:

  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Provide a CV with a full history.
  • Have a DBS on the Update Service (or be prepared to get a new one).
  • Min of two professional references.
  • Overseas Police Checks (if applicable).
  • Previous school based experience.
  • Candidates with experience as a Teaching Assistant, Secondary Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Special Needs Teaching Assistant, Special Needs Support Worker, Youth Worker, Residential Support Worker, Sports Coach, Pastoral Support Worker, Learning Support Assistant, Learning Mentor or Behaviour Mentor will be considered.
