Cover People are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work day-to-day within SEN schools across Stockport.

The Role:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to work within our SEN schools to help create a safe and secure environment for their students. As a Teaching Assistant you must be confident managing challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the educational and social development of children with special educational needs (SEN).
  •  Assisting teachers in implementing individual education plans for pupils.
  •  Providing one-to-one support to children with SEN in the classroom.
  •  Helping pupils with SEN to participate in all aspects of the curriculum.
  •  Collaborating with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, to support pupil progress.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must hold an Enhanced DBS Disclosure
  • Experience working with individuals with Special Educational Needs and complex needs.
  • An NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and best practices with the ability to adapt to any situation.
  • Patience and empathy when working with children with SEN.
  • Excellent communication skills.
