SEN Teaching Assistant | Stockport | £95-£105 | Long Term to Perm | ASAP

Long Term Futures are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special needs school in Stockport. The successful candidate will work with children with special educational needs (SEN).

About the Role:As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students in a specialist setting that provides holistic support. You'll work closely with both verbal and non-verbal autistic learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with varying needs, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist children in understanding the teachers' instructions.
  • Work with individual learners in the classroom or support individuals and small groups in the learning support department.
  • Keep track of and record pupil progress.

Key Experience:

  • Experience working in a teaching or teaching assistant role.
  • Prior experience working with SEN children, especially those with ADD/ADHD/Autism.
  • Strong communication and social skills to manage the needs of the children effectively.
  • Enthusiastic and flexible attitude.

To Be Eligible for This Role You Must:

  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Have an enhanced child-barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional, child-related references that cover the last two years.
