Job Opportunity: Geography Teacher in SEN School (Stockport)
Are you a passionate and dedicated Geography teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join a supportive and dynamic team at a specialist SEN school in Stockport, starting in April after Easter.

The Role:We are seeking an enthusiastic Geography teacher who is passionate about working with students with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have experience of managing challenging behaviour and a strong understanding of Autism. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated Geography lessons that inspire and motivate students, helping them to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Geography lessons tailored to the needs of students with Autism and challenging behaviour.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the learning and development of all students.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members, including SEN specialists, to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN education.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Geography, preferably within an SEN setting.
- Strong understanding of Autism and strategies for managing challenging behaviour.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for working with students with special educational needs.
