As part of our efforts to engage students in a holistic educational experience, we are looking to appoint a passionate and motivated Sports Coach to join our team.
Job Overview:
As a Sports Coach at our PRU, you will have the exciting opportunity to inspire and engage young people through sports, fostering both physical and emotional development. You will plan and deliver structured sports sessions, promoting teamwork, discipline, and positive behaviours. The role will also involve creating an inclusive environment where all students feel supported and motivated to take part in physical activities, regardless of their background or previous experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality sports coaching sessions that cater to a variety of abilities and interests.
- Support students' personal development through sport, focusing on improving self-esteem, resilience, and teamwork.
- Promote positive behavior and support students in making healthy lifestyle choices.
- Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
- Monitor and track the progress of students, providing regular feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
- Organize and lead extracurricular sports activities and events.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment where all students can thrive.
- Maintain up-to-date records and reports on student participation and progress.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience coaching or teaching sports to young people, ideally in an educational or youth work setting.
- Passion for sport and working with young people who may face challenges in their learning journey.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students and build positive relationships.
- Ability to plan, organize, and deliver effective coaching sessions.
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
- A current DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Relevant qualifications in sports coaching, teaching, or related fields (e.g., Level 2 Coaching or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
