VTA Recruitment Ltd are working on behalf of a locally managed service provider in recruiting a driver to join their Grounds Maintenance.

Our client is a market-leading waste management company working on behalf of Stockport council.

Overview:

We are seeking 2-3 Driver/Operatives to join our Streetcare team, focusing on street cleansing and grounds maintenance operations. This is an exciting opportunity, with the potential to transition into a permanent position for successful candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving: Safely operate a tipper vehicle up to 6.5 tonnes as required for street cleansing and grounds maintenance tasks.
  • Street Cleansing & Grounds Maintenance: Perform a range of duties including litter collection, sweeping, and general upkeep of public spaces.
  • Equipment Operation: Use various tools and machinery such as:
    • Backpack blowers
    • Strimmers
    • Hand mowers
    • Hedge cutters
  • Mechanical Sweeping: Operate small mechanical sweepers (experience desirable but not essential).
  • Other Duties: General maintenance and care of public areas, working collaboratively as part of a team to ensure a clean and safe environment.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Driver's License: Minimum C1 Licence required for driving vehicles up to 6.5 tonnes.
  • Equipment Experience: Prior experience in operating grounds maintenance tools and machinery is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Stockport: Familiarity with the local area will be advantageous for effective navigation and service delivery.
