We’re hiring for a Welder Fabricator to join an established metal restoration and conservation company based in Stockport. Their customers include heritage trusts, public bodies and local authorities and they also provide bespoke installations for listed buildings, churches and public spaces throughout the UK.

As part of a supportive and hands-on management team, you’ll manage all aspects of contract work assigned to you regarding metalwork restoration and will be responsible for delivering projects to specification, budget and programme.

What’s on offer?

£15 - £17 per hour (£27,000 - £31,200 per annum) + good overtime rates
Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)
Full-time permanent job - weekly pay
Training available (in-house & external) in supervising contracts and specialised plant
Working away at times – all expenses paid
All PPE provided

What will you be doing as a Welder fabricator?

Measuring up and surveying jobs
Managing the completion of projects from small to large
Liaising with Senior managers to discuss how to effectively complete jobs within the correct timescale
Assisting with overall material and stock check required to complete projects
Fabrication of Iron and steel gates, railings, displays, and window frames predominately for historic/heritage/old and listed buildings

What do you need?

Driving licence required with at least two years’ experience
Must be 25 years old for the insurance policy on the company vans
Advanced metalwork / welding / fabrication skills
The ability to plan and monitor progress
Knowledge of good health & safety practices
Willingness to work overtime and work away for periods (expenses paid)

What’s nice to have?

Construction industry experience
Fitting experience
Experience working with heritage sites or old and listed buildings
