Key Responsibilities:
As the Cost Accountant, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the financial landscape of the business. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the Financial Controller: Help implement the Finance strategy, ensuring compliance with policies and systems that align with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Cost Accounting Excellence: Assist in cost accounting and contribute to the preparation of management accounts that help steer business decisions.
- Driving Financial Insight: Provide crucial financial information to report on performance and influence decision-making at all levels.
- Managing Month-End & Reporting: Oversee the timely completion of month-end tasks, management accounts, and cash forecasts.
- Planning for Success: Support the creation of the Annual Operating Plan, contributing to strategic financial planning.
- Budget Mastery: Work closely with site management to ensure tight budgetary control, prepare detailed monthly variance reports, and support budget meetings.
- Financial Education: Empower employees with budgetary responsibilities by guiding them on financial procedures and compliance.
- Financial Advisor: Offer expert financial advice, including legislative compliance and best practices.
- Representing Finance: Act as the Finance Department’s voice in both internal and external forums, presenting financial insights and updates.
- Audit & Compliance: Serve as a key contact point for external authorities and audit teams.
- Project Leadership: Tackle special projects and provide actionable recommendations to align with business and legislative goals.
- Policy Review & Updates: Ensure Finance policies and procedures are always current and reflect best practices.
What We’re Looking For:
- Part-Qualified or Qualified Chartered Accountant (CIMA, ACCA).
- A passion for financial accuracy and decision-making support.
- Strong communicator and team player.
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for process improvement.
