Reed Accountancy are working with a highly reputable company in the Education Sector, who are recruiting for a full-time Finance Officer to join their friendly team. Starting ASAP, this is a temporary assignment which will run for a minimum up until 31st July 2025, however, could be extended further into October 2025. As Senior Finance Officer, you will supervise a team of two Finance Assistants, whilst supporting the Group Head of Finance in managing the financial administration of the organisation, focusing on purchase ledger. This role ensures financial compliance and audit requirements are met, while maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of financial information.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide purchase ledger support to optimise the group budget.
  • Process purchase orders, invoices, credit notes, and payment runs in line with financial regulations.
  • Handle student bursary payments.
  • Check, process, and record credit card purchases.
  • Administer and reconcile petty cash.
  • Process staff expense claims according to financial regulations.
  • Reconcile creditor payments with bank statements.
  • Monitor and reconcile supplier statements, resolving discrepancies.
  • Reconcile balance sheet control accounts.
  • Supervise Finance Assistants as directed.
  • Liaise with auditors on relevant audits.
  • Develop, implement, and review procedures and systems to ensure compliance.
  • Support budget monitoring and control through liaison with budget holders.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in the Support Self-Assessment Review process and Finance Improvement Plan.

To be successful in this role you must have strong working history in a similar finance role and heavily experienced in purchase ledger.
