An exciting opportunity has arisen for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join a company based in Stockton-on-Tees.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily banking transactions and monitor cash flow
- Record and post cash transactions in Sage & Excel
- Maintain and update aged debtor reports
- Chase outstanding payments through reminder letters and calls
- Process and input purchase invoices into Sage
- Post general ledger journals
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Assist accountants with end-of-month financial data
Requirements:
- Experience in an accounting or finance-related role is essential; however, training can be provided in specific areas.
- Ideally studying towards or holding AAT Level 2 or 3
- Strong knowledge of Sage, Excel, and CRM systems
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Location: Stockton-on-TeesHours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, 1-hour lunch break)Salary:£25,000 to £30,000 per annum (DOE)Reports to: Commercial Manager (who also functions as the Finance Manager)
