An exciting opportunity has arisen for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join a company based in Stockton-on-Tees.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily banking transactions and monitor cash flow
  • Record and post cash transactions in Sage & Excel
  • Maintain and update aged debtor reports
  • Chase outstanding payments through reminder letters and calls
  • Process and input purchase invoices into Sage
  • Post general ledger journals
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Assist accountants with end-of-month financial data

Requirements:

  • Experience in an accounting or finance-related role is essential; however, training can be provided in specific areas.
  • Ideally studying towards or holding AAT Level 2 or 3
  • Strong knowledge of Sage, Excel, and CRM systems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

Location: Stockton-on-TeesHours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, 1-hour lunch break)Salary:£25,000 to £30,000 per annum (DOE)Reports to: Commercial Manager (who also functions as the Finance Manager)
