Reed Accountancy are working with a charitable organisation in their search for an Assistant Accountant on a temp to perm basis.  You will manage and oversee the Trust’s Charitable funds, lease cars, vans including insurance, and fuel cards. This role is crucial for producing statutory returns and financial accounts for regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with national deadlines. You will also manage charitable funds banking services, coordinate fund control account reconciliations, and provide accurate financial reporting to Trustees and fund holders.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Produce the Charitable Funds Statutory Returns and the Financial Accounts for regulatory submissions.
  • Coordinate the production of the Charitable Funds Annual Report with support from the Financial Services Manager before submission.
  • Manage charitable funds banking services and cash balance.
  • Provide monthly fund reports to managers, detailing all items of income and expenditure.
  • Coordinate the administration and approvals of the Family & Business Lease car scheme with the external provider.
  • Monitor the Investment Portfolio and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in financial management or similar role, preferably within a charitable or trust setting.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, fund management, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to produce accurate financial reports and statutory returns.
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with fund holders, trustees, and external providers.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
