This is a full-time permanent position offering hybrid working options.
The Role Summary:
The Principal Structural Engineer role will sit within their Building Structures business. As the Principal Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for the efficient and compliant delivery of all structural engineering design on the project, lead and technical design delivery of the project.
The Principal Structural Engineer will also be responsible for the day-to-day management/support and mentoring of the technical structural engineering staff on the project will be working under the direction and support of the Lead Project Engineer and Project Manager.
Key Requirements and Responsibilities
Will be working towards 'Chartered Engineer' status and will have undertaken a formal training review with a relevant professional Institution, or, a suitably experienced mentor;
If progressed through the 'Apprentice route' will have achieved 'Incorporated Engineer' status, or, as a minimum will be 'EngTech' qualified with a recognised Institution;
Experience in large energy transmission and distribution projects would be an advantage, but experience in large energy projects and heavy industrial projects would also be considered an asset, as these skills are easily transferable to this sector.
Demonstrates effective communication and inter-personal skills using written, oral and visual media.
Demonstrates ability in writing letters/emails, summaries and reports, both factual and interpretative. Able to prepare and deliver presentations, project prcis or design concepts, etc.
Knowledge of REVIT Structure in a manner which the structural design produced by company structural software packages can be coordinated and integrated into the company REVIT Structures models.
Developing an ability to conceive approximate scheme solutions to assess the viability of alternative materials and forms of construction.
