Your new roleAs an experienced Teaching Assistant at the secondary school in Stockton-on-Tees, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with communication and interaction needs. Your responsibilities will include assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons, working one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce learning, and helping to manage classroom behaviour. You will also support the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure student success. This full-time position requires flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Starting on Monday, 25th November, this role is initially until Christmas, with the possibility of an extension.
What you'll need to succeedYou will need to have demonstrated experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a secondary school setting, a strong background in communication and interaction to effectively support students with these needs, excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and productive learning environment, adaptability to meet the varying needs of the school and students and a dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.
