We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer in Chorley

Salary:  £40,000 - £55,000 +  Bonus + Benefits

What will be involved?

  • Ensure the integrity and delivery of electrical engineering tasks, focusing on well-defined, controlled, and aligned scopes with deliverables and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers across various disciplines (technical, process, design, and project) and coordinate with functional managers and subcontractors to drive deliverables and manage queries.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact with customers, maintaining feedback, clarifying scope, and helping identify technical risks.
  • Support proposals and bids by contributing to concept designs, component requirements, load schedules, and engineering time estimates.
  • Review project scope, contracts, electrical engineering schedules, and client specifications during project handovers, ensuring proper execution throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualification

  • Hold an HNC in Electrical and/or Controls Engineering.
  • Have experience leading electrical engineering teams in a contract environment, focusing on detailed design, specification, and procurement of electrical/control systems for material handling in harsh conditions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical processes and their integration into process design.
  • Expertise in assessing, designing, and selecting electrical distribution, control, and protection systems.
  • Knowledgeable about current legislation and standards, including the latest IET Wiring Regulations.
  • Understanding of CE/UKCA regulations and performing design risk assessments.
  • Ability to actively participate and contribute to client meetings.
  • Experienced in value engineering processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Awareness of ATEX regulations and their influence on process design and equipment selection.
