Reed Finance are working exclusively with a key client from the energy and services sector.  Due to a sustained period of growth this SME is seeking a Finance Manager to join the small, friendly and dynamic team. This role is crucial for managing financial planning processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the company’s financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modelling.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders, preparing financial statements, reports, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow to ensure liquidity, forecasting cash needs, and optimising the use of financial resources.
  • Evaluate potential investment opportunities and conduct cost-benefit analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, identifying financial risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Implement cost control measures to ensure efficient use of resources, analysing costs associated with projects and operations to enhance profitability.
  • Act as a liaison between the finance department and other departments, communicating financial performance and strategy to stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional development.
  • Participate in the company’s strategic planning process, providing financial insights and recommendations.
  • Manage the financial aspects of bid tenders, ensuring accurate financial figures are presented.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in financial planning, reporting, and investment analysis.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of effectively presenting and explaining financial information.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Excel.
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector is a plus.
