I am currently looking to speak with a Day Instrument Technician who will take up a position for our client based in Redcar.

Salary £45,000 - £50,000 + Bonus + Pension + On-site

Client is a leading infrastructure solutions business and operator of several critical UK energy sites

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the site Control and Instrumentation Technician, adhering to business, client site permits, and legislative standards.
  • Assist the team in implementing philosophy, strategy, actions, and compliance in all operational states.
  • Support the establishment of all E&M processes, systems, and contracts to identify and manage engineering risks, meeting business and legislative requirements.
  • Apply disciplined maintenance best practices and ensure clear communication, comprehension, and tracking of tasks by all relevant personnel.
  • Conduct programmed maintenance, defect rectification, troubleshooting, and project work on site instrumentation equipment.
  • Develop risk assessments and method statements to ensure safe execution of tasks.
  • Stay updated on key legislation (HASAWA, EAWR, DSEAR) to ensure compliance in all operations.
  • Provide guidance for major engineering and maintenance events, including planned/unplanned outages and shutdowns.
  • Support leadership with investigations, process improvements, audits, and communication around procedural actions and incident management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Completed an apprenticeship in Engineering or Control & Instrumentation, or hold at least an NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field.
  • Experienced in a 24/7 industrial setting, performing investigations, troubleshooting, planned repairs, predictive and preventive maintenance, equipment installation, and fault finding.
