A global leading manufacturing group supplying advanced engineered solutions to the aerospace, defence and high technology sectors as a new vacancy for a Trade Compliance Manager. Joining a time of significant new global contract awards you will be responsible for ensuring the company is complaint with all import, export and trade regulations. Candidates are sought with a demonstratable track record of introducing and developing company import & export policies.

Suitable for: Import & Export Manager, Export Manager, Shipping Manager, Customs Manager, Export Controller, Import and export Controller.

Key Responsibilities:


Design and introduce programs and best practises to ensure the company is compliant with UK and overseas import and export legislation.

The control and improvement of all Import & Export documentation.

Work closely with customs brokers and haulers to ensure smooth delivery of products.

Assist sales and engineering teams with paperwork for emerging markets.

Train staff on company and legal requirements to ensure compliance.

Manage and input data for freight bookings for declaration of goods.

Ensure compliance with national and international legislations and regulations.

Supporting all export shipping activities including documentation and licencing.

Continuously monitor and improve processes.

Oversee all import/customs entries, providing clearance instructions to forwarders and maintaining internal customs records.

The Person:


A good understanding of UK customs requirements, export licenses and US control regulations. Some understanding of ITAR would be beneficial.

Proven track record of introducing new polices and practices.

Good knowledge of export documentation.

Works well under pressure with the flexibility to adapt quickly to changing demands.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written.
Able to identify areas for improvement & make valuable suggestions.
