Role Overview:
As an Assistant Engineering Manager, you will support the Engineering Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our maintenance and engineering functions. You will work closely with the engineering team to ensure the fleet is maintained to the highest standards of safety and efficiency. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their leadership skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Engineering Manager in the management of the engineering team and operations.
- Ensure buses are maintained in compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Help manage vehicle maintenance schedules, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum fleet availability.
- Supervise and support engineering staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Assist in the implementation of health & safety policies and procedures within the engineering team.
- Monitor performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations across the business.
- Previous experience in an engineering role, preferably within the transport or fleet industry.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, with a focus on achieving operational excellence.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements within the industry.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
