Reed Accountancy is excited to represent a prestigious client, renowned as global leaders in their field, who are on the hunt for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Project Manager. This full-time role is on a 6-9 month contract basis, offering you the chance to make a significant impact.

As a Payroll Project Manager, you will lead the company's payroll implementation projects, collaborating with various departments to gather requirements, design, and develop efficient payroll systems. Your deep understanding of payroll processes and project management expertise will be key in optimising systems to boost business efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own supplier contracts through to operational handover.
  • Document supplier and operational SLAs, ensuring harmony with contracts.
  • Agree on supplier performance frameworks, including reward & penalty clauses.
  • Oversee the re-planning and turnaround of critical payroll projects.
  • Identify and manage delivery of quick wins to ensure operational stability.
  • Define and agree on the operational support model for payroll capabilities.
  • Plan and execute the transition from project to operational ownership.
  • Work closely with HR and finance departments to establish payroll needs and requirements.
  • Ensure successful execution of payroll projects within set deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant payroll regulations.
  • Provide training and guidance to payroll staff.
  • Identify and resolve payroll-related issues.
  • Design, test, and implement new payroll systems or upgrades.
  • Create detailed reports on payroll operations and project outcomes.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all payroll data.
  • Maintain payroll project documentation for future reference and audits.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Direct experience in owning contract negotiations from inception to operational handover.
  • Experience in fast-paced, private equity-backed organisations undergoing business transformations.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple ADP Payroll adoption projects from start to finish.
  • Experience in managing payroll project turnaround initiatives.
  • Ability to align programme objectives with organisational strategic goals.
  • Expertise in planning, executing, and overseeing multiple projects, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Skill in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders, keeping them informed and engaged.
  • Ability to guide and direct project teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Exceptional skills in conveying programme goals, progress, and changes effectively.
  • Efficient allocation and management of resources to support programme delivery.
  • Proficiency in managing organisational change, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to tackle challenges and find effective solutions.

Required Experience:

To be successful in this role, you must have extensive experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and a proven track record in managing change initiatives. Experience in building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and expertise in identifying and mitigating project risks is essential. You will have strong experience in leading project teams, developing and executing communication plans, and managing programme budgets effectively.
