The School and Role

A LA are looking for experienced Teachers to provide face to face tuition in Maths and English to students who are out of a mainstream setting. This would take place in the students’ home or another suitable setting.


The desired SEMH Tutor will be working 1:1 with students with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and emotional based school refusal.

The SEMH Tutor role is long term to provide consistency for students and work towards breaking down barriers to learning and to give the student the confidence to reach their full potential.

 

Requirements
To be considered for the role of SEMH Tutor you will have:

  • A professional Teaching Qualification (QTS / QTLS)
  • Experience of working with young people with EHCPs
  • Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and / or other Additional Educational Needs
  • An ability to plan and deliver Maths and English sessions
  • A passion for making a difference to the lives of young people.
  • Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost if needed)
