Senior Occupational Therapist

Salary: £36,453.82

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at a secure, therapeutic facility based in Stockton-on-the-Forest, York. This medium secure hospital provides care for adult patients (18 years and older) with mental illness, personality disorders, and mild to moderate learning disabilities.
In this role, you will work alongside a dedicated team of forensic occupational therapists and therapy assistants, providing specialist assessments and therapeutic interventions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced occupational therapist with a passion for working with individuals with learning disabilities and neurodiversity.

Key Responsibilities:
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide expert assessments and therapeutic interventions for detained patients within the LD/ASD Service Line
• Provide input into risk assessments and risk management plans
• Use standardised clinical tools based on the Model of Human Occupation to support patient care
• Supervise and mentor junior members of the occupational therapy team
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
• Promote the value of occupation and uphold organisational values within the clinical team
About You:
• A qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist
• Strong knowledge of occupational therapy practices in a secure setting
• Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and neurodiversity
• Ability to supervise and mentor a team, while fostering a positive working environment
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and contributing to service improvements

Induction:
Successful candidates will be required to complete a comprehensive two-week induction at the start of their employment. Inductions are held during the first two weeks of every month.
