Accounts Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to cover initial maternity leave, with the potential for permanent employment and really make the Accounts function their own as part of a succession plan.

This role is crucial in supporting the financial operations of our client, ensuring accuracy in financial records and assisting with various accounting tasks. This position is ideal for someone with experience in an accounts office environment and proficiency in accounting software.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Booking in deliveries and allocating them to projects.
  • Reconciliation of delivery notes to purchase invoices.
  • Reconciliation of supplier monthly statements.
  • Generating sales orders through to sales invoices.
  • Provide credit control support when necessary.
  • Analyse and balance credit cards, petty cash, and some control accounts.
  • Process and submit payroll and pension reports using Sage 50 payroll.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding financial transactions and provide necessary documentation when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts & Payroll.
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency in accounting software, including Sage, is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
