Who we are looking for

An Assistant Accountant, who will play a key part in the processing of payments to satisfy requirements and obligations within the multiple legal entities within the Group.You will be an integral part of the new centralised payments team, who will be responsible for the administering and processing of a variety of outflows to satisfy the Company’s obligations to stakeholders.You will report directly to the Finance Team Leader and assist with the processing of over 30,000 payments each month.As the Business grows, this role will provide the opportunity to contribute to ongoing projects as well as with the implementation of new processes. This will require you to communicate with colleagues and various stakeholders within the Business.This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Preferred skills and experience

  • Studying towards AAT.
  • Experience in the processing of payments.
  • Proactive and organised, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel functions.
  • If successful you will be required to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK from your first day of employment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the processing of payments.
  • Liaising with various banking partners to resolve payment queries.
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues to confirm payment statuses and assist with accounts coding.
  • Supporting the development of payments processes.
  • Completing client account reconciliations and investigating variances.
  • Contributing to ongoing projects relating to the payments function.
  • Completing ad hoc tasks as and when required.
