Design Engineer

Location: Stoke on Trent (Within commuting distance from Stoke-on-Trent although UK wide travel may be required)

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum

Our clients are rapidly expanding and therefore require a design engineer to work with their system integration team operating mainly in the warehouse automation sector. Experience is not essential but desirable as the successful candidate will be expected to perform to a satisfactory standard within a short period of time and support the team with enthusiasm and drive.

The Role

  • Provide the Sales & Project team with your technical input to drive projects to a successful conclusion
  • Your technical and design input for a suitable solutions proposal and presentations
  • Layout drawing preparation and presentation
  • 3D model and layout preparation and presentation
  • Design, cost and manufacture of bespoke items as required
  • Project design, manufacture and installation cost preparation as part of the team
  • Site support as required to ensure a successful end product
  • Support for the aftermarket team with costs and spare part delivery
  • Enhancement design and instigation

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Design background in automation preferable
  • Engineering manufacturing knowledge and experience essential
  • HNC qualifications in engineering discipline preferred
  • AutoCAD 2D and 3D suit expertise essential. Preferably Inventor Solidworks optional. SketchUp beneficial
  • Efficient MS Office skills, particularly in Word and Excel
  • Design standards and machine safety knowledge essential
  • Able to work alongside and within the Sales & Projects team
  • Site H&S training essential with certification preferable
  • Strong communication skills
  • Driving licence essential
