Key Responsibilities:

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be at the heart of our accounts payable process, ensuring that every transaction is accurate and efficient. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Processing invoices with precision, ensuring accurate coding and matching to purchase orders.
  • Calculating and executing supplier payments.
  • Monitoring and responding to email inquiries promptly.
  • Reconciling Purchase Ledger accounts and supplier statements with great attention to detail.
  • Resolving any invoice/payment queries in a friendly and timely manner for both external and internal parties.
  • Posting bank payments and maintaining organised records through filing and archiving.
  • Ensuring timely data input to meet accounting cycle deadlines.
  • Completing month-end processes with confidence.
  • Providing support and cover for the Office Manager.
  • Assisting with critical tasks in the sales ledger during annual leave and sickness.
  • Collaborating with other departments as needed and supporting the wider finance team.
  • Tackling any general administrative tasks that ensure the team operates smoothly and meets management deadlines.

What We're Looking For:

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and accounting software; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus!
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational prowess to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • The ability to work independently while also being a team player, showcasing strong communication skills.
  • Competence in data entry and maintaining accurate records, which is crucial for success in this position.
