HGV Class 1 Drivers Wanted In STOKE-ON-TRENT!

Logistics People are looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers/HGV Drivers/LGV Class 1 Drivers/LGV Drivers/Class 1 Drivers working on a Full time Equivalent (FTE) basis at our Eddie Stobart Stoke-On-Trent depot.

Our customer is one of the biggest names within the HGV industry, with the latest vehicles on the market, which means you get the best HGV experience and a top range vehicle to work with.

***6 Months Of HGV Class 1 Driving Experience Required***

Location: Stoke-on-Trent ST5 0UU 

Working Hours:

  • Monday - Friday Shifts Available - Various Start Times Available 

Pay Rate:

  • Monday – Friday Days: £16.26 P/hr Including Holiday Pay
  • Monday – Friday Nights: £17.38 P/hr Including Holiday Pay
  • Saturday Days and Nights: £20.18 P/hr Including Holiday Pay
  • Sunday Days and Nights: £20.74 P/hr Including Holiday Pay

About this role:

  • Ambient work – You will be driving ambient products that do not require temperate checks.
  • Trunking – You will be driving on a regular route, including long haul transportation of goods between distribution hubs.
  • General haulage – Transporting various types of goods from location to location.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance needs to ensure roadworthiness
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, logbooks, and other necessary paperwork in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to health and safety regulations.

About You:

  • You should hold a valid HGV 1/C+E Licence and have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience. 
  • No more than 6 points no DD/ DR Code convictions
  • Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards
  • Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation
  • Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly
  • Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements
  • Excellent communication skills
