Nursery Assistants urgently required - Longton

Academics are currently seeking dedicated and passionate Nursery Assistants to join our team to work across the vibrant city of Stoke-on-Trent in the ST3 area. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and well-being of young children in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the daily care and supervision of children aged 0-5 years in accordance with the nursery's policies and procedures.
  • Engaging children in age-appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors, to promote their physical, cognitive, and social development.
  • Supporting the nursery staff in implementing planned educational programs, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assisting with meal and snack times, promoting healthy eating habits and good table manners.
  • Monitoring and observing children, noting their progress, and reporting any concerns to the senior staff.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy environment, including sanitizing toys, equipment, and play areas regularly.
  • Adhering to safeguarding procedures and maintaining a vigilant attitude towards child protection.

Requirements:

  • Early Childhood Education qualification or a related field.
  • Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their growth and development.
  • Knowledge of child development theories and age-appropriate activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with children, parents, and colleagues effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise responsibilities.
  • Patience, creativity, and adaptability to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • A warm and caring personality, with a nurturing approach towards children.
