I am looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to manage the capital works schemes for a retirement living and extra care specialist across the Stoke-on-Trent region and surrounding areas.

Building Surveyor duties:
  • Provide professional surveying and technical support contributing to the smooth and efficient delivery of the Asset Management strategy
  • Ownership for the project management or major investment contracts
  • Lead and motivate a team of key contractors and suppliers
  • Undertake comprehensive building survey work including technical inspections of building defects
  • Responsible for energy performance compliance and FRA assessments

To succeed as the Building Surveyor, you need:
  • Significant demonstrable experience in a surveying role in a housing association, private practice, local authority, or similar
  • Full contract administration responsibilities of a range of technical and complex major works projects; including preparing tender documentation, cost analysis and budgetary control, site management, supervising contractors, quality control and certification
  • Robust understanding of current health and safety legislation, CDM (including Principal Designer experience) and comprehensive knowledge of other building related statutory obligations
  • Excellent contract management skills, delivering projects on time and to budget
  • Able to understand and prepare technical drawings, diagnose building defects and specify remedies
