Building Surveyor duties:
- Provide professional surveying and technical support contributing to the smooth and efficient delivery of the Asset Management strategy
- Ownership for the project management or major investment contracts
- Lead and motivate a team of key contractors and suppliers
- Undertake comprehensive building survey work including technical inspections of building defects
- Responsible for energy performance compliance and FRA assessments
To succeed as the Building Surveyor, you need:
- Significant demonstrable experience in a surveying role in a housing association, private practice, local authority, or similar
- Full contract administration responsibilities of a range of technical and complex major works projects; including preparing tender documentation, cost analysis and budgetary control, site management, supervising contractors, quality control and certification
- Robust understanding of current health and safety legislation, CDM (including Principal Designer experience) and comprehensive knowledge of other building related statutory obligations
- Excellent contract management skills, delivering projects on time and to budget
- Able to understand and prepare technical drawings, diagnose building defects and specify remedies
