Lead DevOps Engineer | £85,000 | Hybrid | Stoke-On-Trent
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer on behalf of a leader in the automotive industry to add to their experienced and well-equipped IT department.
The Role
You will be joining an experienced team of over 20 including DevOps, QA, Development and more. You will be working on brand new projects including a technology transformation project utilising the latest tools and equipment. Your role will specifically require you to oversee a team of 3+ engineers whilst remanining hands-on during projects.
Your day-to-day will consist of:
- Gathering and analysing statistics from operating systems and applications regarding performance tuning and error searching.
- Troubleshooting and providing solutions for technical issues across the stack.
- Be a part of system design consultation, platform management and capacity planning.
- Using well-defined service level objectives to balance feature development speed and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with GIT Policies.
- Manage and optimise AWS Cloud Infrastructure.
- Providing oversight and hands-on support for the implementation of Cloudflare solutions.
- Oversee and manage the progress of an assigned team of engineers.
- Liasing with stakeholders and being able to articulate the status of projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related discipline.
- Extensive experience in a DevOps team lead role using AWS, (IAM, S3, EKS).
- Experience with IaC such as Terraform.. Cloud formation/CDK is desirable.
- Expert knowledge in containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with CI/CID pipelines and tools via GitHub & ArgoCD.
- Experience delivering monitoring and alerting solutions.
