Office based - Stoke on Trent (2/3 days per week average) with national coverage and travel.

Remuneration: £70,000 - £80,000 depending on experience + incentives

Benefits: company car or car allowance, 25 days holiday, 4% / 5% company pension

The role of the Head of Sales & Service - Material Handling and Recycling Equipment

E.H Hassell and sons is a premium supplier of specialist machinery who excel in providing sales, service, hire and parts of high quality material handlers, recycling and scrap metal processing equipment to the quarrying, scrap, waste and recycling sectors. Our key client products include brand names such as; Terex, Ecotek, Sennebogen, Guidetti, Bateman, Bronneberg and CMB.

Based in Stoke on Trent and part of the Hassell Engineering company, we employ circa 45 employees company wide, with circa 12 within the material handling and recycling equipment sales, service, parts & hire side of the business. This side of the business consists of the sales, service, service engineers, parts and hire coordination teams

Opportunity - Head of Sales & Service - Material Handling and Recycling Equipment

This is a fantastic opportunity to support the MD of a family, ran, friendly and successful business based in Stoke on Trent. The role will be responsible for leading, managing and shaping their existing sales and service departments for their Material handling and recycling equipment operations. The role could also see a possible future step, subject to growth and performance suitability, into a Director level role at the appropriate point in the future.

This is a key role within the business, accountable for supporting the MD on creating the sales strategy and growth pipeline for both new and existing customers for the Material handling and recycling equipment Sales and service departments. Creating a performance culture and leading and managing the teams to deliver against target and KPI’s. Driving sales and revenue growth for the business.

Responsible for both the leading of and the day to day operational management of the team, coaching and developing the sales and service teams to deliver against target.

For ensuring the efficient and effective end to end customer experiences both externally and internally for the sales and service department.

Ensuring collaboration across both Sales and service functions and the review and reset of existing process and procedure.

Leading and managing the day to day operational elements and performance and development of team members for both the sales and service teams.

If you are an experienced Head of Sales and Service, who would relish the opportunity to work closely with and support the MD and be fully accountable for the future growth and success of an efficient and effective sales and service team.

If you have demonstrable experience of driving sales growth and revenue in the Material handling and recycling equipment sector

If you are comfortable and effective in a player / manager role where you have demonstrable experience of being responsible for shaping and driving the sales and service functions in regard to both strategy setting and effectively managing the day to day elements of the sales and service teams including leading with empathy and with strong people management skills to navigate difficult conversations and managing teams to ensure they deliver against target
