The Role:

We are looking for a motivated Teaching Assistant to support teachers in the day-to-day running of classes to students at KS3 and KS4 levels. In this Temp role, you will assist with classroom management, provide individualised support to students, and foster a positive learning environment. This role could be made permanent depending on the person.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in preparing resources and materials for the day.
  • Support classroom activities.
  • Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce the material.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Support students with special educational needs as required.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and respect.
  • Engage with parents, guardians, and colleagues to support student success and wellbeing.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Experience: At least 6 months to 1 year of teaching assistant experience in a secondary school.
  • Qualifications: Cache Level 2 Support Teaching & Learning In Schools or similar course related to working with children.
  • Training: Experience in behaviour management and differentiated instruction. Familiarity with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.

To be considered for the higher end of the salary bracket, candidates should demonstrate:

  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant Experience: Extensive experience in teaching assistant roles in a secondary school at GCSE level, with a proven track record of student success.
  • Professional Development: Continued professional development (CPD) in education, including advanced training or certifications that enhance teaching practice.
