Deputy Children's Manager - Stoke
Salary: 37,000
Shift Pattern: 2 on / 4 off with sleeps + an extra shift every 3 weeks

Our client is seeking a Deputy Children's Manager (DCM) to join their highly regarded children's home in Stoke. About the Role:
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the long-standing Registered Manager to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
You will be expected to support the home's day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing leadership to the care team. On occasion, you may be required to provide support in other homes, with the furthest being in Wigan or Wirral, but the organisation's low staff turnover means this is a rare occurrence.

* Level 3 or Level 4 Apprenticeship in Children's Residential Care
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a residential setting, with at least 12 months post-qualification
* A commitment to buying into the home's strong, values-driven culture

* Ability to work the 2 on / 4 off shift pattern with sleep-ins, plus an additional shift every 3 weeks
* Willingness to support other homes in emergencies when needed

Essential Job Requirements:

* Ensure the safety of young people in care
* Encourage and motivate young people to participate in activities and education
* Lead staff teams in a residential childcare setting
* Ability to manage the home in the absence of the Registered Manager
* Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young Person's Workforce or equivalent
* Experience of Ofsted Inspections
* Knowledge of current legislation in the sector
* Flexibility for shift work, including weekends and sleep-ins

Desirable Attributes:

* Team Leader or Leadership & Management qualification
* Understanding of attachment and trauma in relation to young people
* Experience in a therapeutic setting
* Success in developing staff teams and individuals
