We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Support Assistant to support their Year 3 class on a supply basis.

The Role:
Academics are seeking an energetic and compassionate Teaching Support Assistant to work full-time with a Year 3 class from after October half-term until Christmas initially. The successful candidate will assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons, supporting pupils with their learning, and ensuring all students have access to the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support to the Year 3 teacher in managing the class and delivering lessons.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to support their learning and development.
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support students with varying needs, ensuring they receive targeted help where required.
  • Help with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Supervise children during breaks and lunchtime as required.
  • Ensure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with primary school-aged children, particularly LKS2 is desirable.
  • A passion for education and helping young children reach their potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff.
  • An understanding of child development and learning processes.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to engage with students of all abilities.
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo a DBS check prior to start).
