Role Summary:
This role involves modifying existing control systems under support contracts and handling project work. The ideal candidate will have experience with Beckhoff control systems, and additional familiarity with Siemens PLC/SCADA is beneficial. The position is primarily based at the office with remote working opportunities and customer site visits.
Role Description:
• Develop PLC and/or SCADA system designs based on customer requirements.
• Program PLC control systems and configure SCADA from developed or given designs.
• Engage in the full software/systems lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, installation, configuration, and documentation.
• Perform installation, configuration, and testing at customer sites.
• Collaborate within project teams to meet customer deadlines.
Essential Requirements:
• Engineering or computer-related qualification (degree/HND) or comparable industrial experience.
• Strong client-facing skills and ability to work within a combined client/contractor team.
• Experience in producing design documentation and test specifications.
• Willingness to travel and work away when required.
• Proficiency in Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 PLC programming (IEC Structured Text).
• Familiarity with unit testing and agile working methodology.
• Experience with version control software (Git).
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance.
• Valid driving license.
Desirable Experience:
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of the project lifecycle.
• Experience in PLC system design, coding, testing, and commissioning.
• SCADA system design, configuration, and commissioning.
• Experience in the Nuclear Industry.
