Join a team dedicated to solving tomorrow's material challenges! This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Engineering Team Lead to manage a dynamic team supporting advanced materials research and development across state-of-the-art facilities.

Job Purpose

You will lead a growing team of engineering specialists, providing expert support for technical operations across UK sites. Your role will involve designing innovative solutions for unique trials and test rigs, maintaining critical equipment, and ensuring operational efficiency to meet the demands of cutting-edge materials science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with scientific and technical teams to design and implement bespoke engineering solutions for trials and test rigs.
  • Manage preventative maintenance schedules to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and reliably.
  • Lead fault diagnosis and triage activities for equipment across UK sites, ensuring timely resolution to minimise downtime.
  • Work closely with the Procurement Manager to source parts for developing and maintaining new technology processes.
  • Oversee contractor health and safety compliance, ensuring all regulations are adhered to and risks are mitigated.
  • Conduct team performance reviews, set objectives, and provide opportunities for professional development.
  • Manage small capital projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant electrical certification (e.g., Electrical Installation Certificate or Diploma).
  • Health and Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within an engineering or technical environment.
  • Mechanical engineering expertise with practical experience.
  • Proficiency in risk assessments and health and safety process management.
  • Experience with CAD software (preferred but not essential).
