This established and growing manufacturing and distribution business has a turnover of £5m in the UK, and forms part of a global group of companies, however, continues to operate as a small family-run entity within Stoke on Trent.

The role of Design Engineer is ideal for a recent graduate, trainee, or junior CAD engineer looking to develop their mechanical design and engineering skills, designing and defining bespoke products according to individual customer requirements.

What we need from you?

  • Developing initial drawings of new components and producing practical designs based on pre-confirmed customer information.
  • Amendments to current drawings.
  • Maintaining the drawing database.
  • Building new Bills of Material List and GA drawings with supervisor input.
  • Use computer-aided design software to design concepts.

What you need to succeed?

  • University Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in an engineering environment and a demonstrated ability to independently produce innovative and successful designs as part of large or small projects.
  • Proficient in software applications, 2D & 3D package skills, ideally Inventor and/or AutoCAD.
  • Ability to recognise customer product needs and market trends affecting product requirements.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
