I am currently representing a blue chip company based in Stoke-on-Trent who have an exciting opportunity in their finance department for a Senior Payroll Specialist. What you will be doing:

  • End to end payroll processing - including starters, leavers and changes, adjustments (overtime), SSP, SMP, SPP, and attachment of Earnings.
  • Management, processing and reconciliation of monthly and weekly payrolls to maintain compliance with contractual and statutory obligations.
  • Responding to enquiries from employees and stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Identifying development requirements and providing/creating training opportunities for team members.
  • Maintain a high standard control environment ensuring all payroll reconciliations are completed timely and issues resolved.
  • Development, management and enhancement of payroll processes and controls.
  • Maintaining strong and effective relationships with external bodies/3rd party providers.
  • Must be able to work additional hours as required due to the nature of the role.

What do you bring with you:

  • Previous office experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrable payroll experience 3-5 years.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Flexibility - working as part of a team and dealing with varying workloads.
  • Skills - excellent organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workload. Excellent written & verbal communication.
  • Microsoft Office - Excel/Word/Outlook.
  • Systems experience of SAP, ADP & WorkDay is required.
