Our client has an opportunity available for a RETAIL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT LEAD to join their team. You will join them on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a salary of £34,241 - £43,046 per annum. The role is home based in the UK with National travel.

About the RETAIL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT LEAD role:

The Retail Business Development Lead is responsible for driving growth and expanding the charity's footprint of café and convenience shop locations. This role involves identifying and targeting new business opportunities, both within existing channels of operation and in new areas. Building and maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders, and working with colleagues to respond to tenders and present to key decision makers to maximise new openings and net contribution to the charity.

Hours: 35 hours per week, normally Monday to Friday.

  • What you'll bring as their RETAIL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT LEAD:

    Knowledge:

  • Proven knowledge of business development and sales processes.
  • Well connected within the hospitality and retail sectors.
  • Advantageous to have knowledge, experience and understanding of NHS Trusts/Boards.
  • Understanding of public sector procurement and bid management. 
  • Skills:

  • Be able to propose new business development opportunities with corresponding research and analysis.
  • Ability to present complex information at a variety of levels, both in person and on paper.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Results orientated with a strong driven to achieve targets, self motivated.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and proactive approach.
  • Strong IT skills including Excel for financial modelling and PowerPoint for presentations. 
  • Experience:

  • Ideally educated to degree level.
  • Business development experience gained within the hospitality, retail or voluntary sectors and clearly evidenced success at delivering new, financially viable business opportunities.
  • Experienced in analysing PQQ and other contractual requirements.
