Role: Geography Teacher - Stoke-on-Trent
As a Geography Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering exciting lessons that explore the physical and human aspects of geography. You'll encourage students to think critically about the world around them and help them develop essential skills for understanding global issues. This is an opportunity to inspire students to think about sustainability, geography, and the environment, making a positive impact on their academic journey.
The ideal candidate for the Geography Teacher role will have a strong background in geography, a passion for teaching, and a dedication to fostering a love for the subject. You should be enthusiastic about helping students gain a deeper understanding of geographical concepts and real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities of the Geography Teacher:
- Deliver high-quality lessons in Geography to students at various levels.
- Develop and implement creative and engaging teaching materials for Geography students.
- Encourage critical thinking and help students understand complex geographical issues.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in curriculum development for Geography and contribute ideas for improvement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to create cross-curricular opportunities related to Geography.
- Organise and oversee extracurricular activities, field trips, or geography clubs.
- Foster student's understanding of geography's role in addressing global challenges.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Geography and the ability to teach across key stages.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for geography and a commitment to student success.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience teaching Geography in secondary education is desirable but not essential.
