We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a vibrant and supportive secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an NQT looking to develop their career in a well-established school. The ideal candidate will have a passion for science and a strong commitment to delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to achieve their best.
About the Role: As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons in a variety of science subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. You will help to foster a love of learning in students, ensuring they develop strong knowledge and practical skills. You will also play a key role in the school's academic progress, working collaboratively with colleagues to improve student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and effective science lessons across key stages 3 and 4 (and potentially 5 depending on experience).
Prepare and implement schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the school curriculum.
Assess and monitor students' progress, providing feedback to encourage their development.
Create a positive learning environment that supports the diverse needs of students.
Collaborate with other teaching staff to ensure the smooth running of the department.
Participate in extracurricular activities related to science (optional but encouraged).
Ideal Candidate:
Qualified Science Teacher (QTS or equivalent).
Strong knowledge and passion for science, with the ability to teach across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
A proactive and flexible approach to teaching, with a commitment to student success.
A track record of excellent classroom management and the ability to inspire students.
An understanding of assessment strategies and the ability to provide constructive feedback.
