Our client, an industry leader in detection technology, is currently seeking an International Field Service Engineer to join their team based in Stoke-on-Trent, UK. This role involves providing on-site support for cargo and vehicle inspection systems across Europe, former CIS, Central & SW Asia, Middle East, and Africa. The successful applicant will help combat terrorism, drug smuggling, illegal immigration, and trade fraud by ensuring the functionality and reliability of advanced scanning systems.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out the repair, maintenance, and overhaul of cargo systems.
  • Performing general maintenance, fitting, troubleshooting, and fault-finding on systems and subsystems
  • Providing oral and written responses to third-line technical requests from site engineers, distributors' engineers, or customer representatives
  • Providing defect liability or post-acceptance support for mobile or airport cargo equipment
  • Installing static, gantry, or portal systems as part of an installation team
  • Undertaking national and international travel up to 90% of the time
  • Completing technical documentation, including service reports, engineering change requests, and service data input
  • Acting as a liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters


Job Requirements:

  • BTEC, C&G, HNC or a similar qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems
  • Understanding of IT networking solutions, CCNP or similar
  • Familiarity with integrated IT systems including PLC, HV systems, and/or radar
  • Experience in field service engineering or management
  • Willingness to travel internationally, often to challenging destinations and at short notice
