Position: Senior Support Worker

Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Salary Range: £13.00 - £14.00 per hour + additional £60 sleep-in payment per shift

Contracted Hours: 42hrs

A residential children's home is seeking an experienced Senior Support Worker to provide care and support for children and young people, offering a safe and therapeutic environment. My client's home is situated within Stoke-on-Trent, where staff offer 24/7 support to those with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer emotional and practical support tailored to the unique needs of each child. This includes daily routines, personal care, and creating a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Develop positive, trusting relationships with children, fostering a sense of belonging and providing them with guidance and support.
  • Liaise with other professionals, including social workers, therapists, and educational staff, to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to each child's care.
  • Support and guide support workers, offering support, advice, and assisting with training and development. Model appropriate care techniques and responses to challenging behaviours.

Requirements:

  • Hold either a Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare OR equivalent
  • Experience working within a Residential Children's Home
  • Have a keen interest in making a difference to children and young people lives
  • Full UK Driving Licence - Able to commute to Manchester
