1:1 SEN learning support Assistants - Stoke

Academics are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1-to-1 SEN Learning Support Practitioners to work across our partnering primary schools on a full-time basis . Successful candidates will work closely with a pupils with complex needs including ASD, ADHD, Behavioural needs providing personalised support to facilitate their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to a child with complex needs in their educational activities.
  • Create and implement individualised learning plans tailored to the specific needs of the pupil
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages the child's confidence and independence.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure consistency and effectiveness in the child's learning experience.
  • Monitor and track the progress of the child, adjusting support strategies as needed to address any challenges or barriers to learning.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with complex needs, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various special educational needs and the strategies to support them effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children with special needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, special education, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
