Teaching Assistant for SEND  

Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you want to make a real difference in a secondary school setting? Colmore Education Recruitment is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team and work in a secondary school in the Staffordshire area.

About the Role:

You’ll be working closely with students aged 11-16 who require additional support in their learning journey. The role involves helping students with SEND to access the curriculum, both in and outside the classroom, and offering tailored support to meet their unique needs.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with SEND on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored lesson plans
  • Encouraging students’ independence and confidence in learning
  • Working collaboratively with the SENDCo and other school staff
  • Providing emotional and behavioural support where needed
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in working with children or young people with SEND
  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to promoting inclusivity and equality
  • A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
