About the Role:
As an SEN Teacher, you will be working with small classes of students who require personalised support to thrive in their education. You will deliver tailored lessons, help students overcome barriers to learning, and provide a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. You will play a vital role in helping each student reach their full potential while addressing their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with a variety of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, MLD, SEMH, and challenging behaviors.
- Create a positive and structured classroom environment that promotes learning, inclusion, and respect.
- Provide individual and group support to ensure students make progress both academically and personally.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external agencies to support student development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents, carers, and the wider school team.
- Promote positive behavior management strategies and help students develop social and emotional skills.
- Maintain a commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of all students.
About You:
We are looking for a SEN Teacher who is:
- Experienced and understanding - you have experience working with students who have a range of SEND needs and are committed to providing them with the support they require.
- Patient and empathetic - you understand the challenges students with SEND face and approach each situation with compassion and understanding.
- Creative and adaptable - you can design and deliver lessons that cater to diverse learning needs and engage students in meaningful ways.
- Positive and solution-focused - you are able to develop effective strategies for overcoming barriers to learning and behavior.
- A strong communicator - you can work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to create a collaborative and supportive environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching students with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, MLD, SEMH, and challenging behaviors.
- An understanding of special educational needs and an ability to create an inclusive classroom environment.
- A patient and calm demeanor with excellent classroom management skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
