About the Role:
As a Supply Teacher, you will work with a small cohort of students who may have experienced difficulties in mainstream education. You will be expected to deliver engaging lessons, provide emotional support, and help students re-engage with their education.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people in a smaller, more individualised setting and is confident in building relationships to support students' academic and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons to small groups of students in a supportive, pupil-centered environment.
- Provide tailored interventions to meet the individual needs of students and promote positive behavior.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage their engagement and participation.
- Collaborate with the specialist team, including teaching staff and external professionals, to support students' well-being and learning.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit the learning styles and needs of each student.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture that fosters both personal and academic development.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students, maintaining a high standard of behavior management in the classroom.
About You:
We are looking for a Supply Teacher who is:
- Confident and adaptable - you can quickly build rapport with students and respond flexibly to the needs of each individual.
- Open-minded and empathetic - you approach each student with an understanding of their unique challenges and potential.
- Passionate about education - you have a genuine desire to support vulnerable students and help them re-engage with learning.
- Proactive and resourceful - you are able to plan and deliver lessons that are both engaging and relevant, even in the absence of long-term planning.
- Strong communicator - you can effectively communicate with students, staff, and parents to ensure that each student receives the support they need.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with young people, particularly those at risk of exclusion or with behavioral challenges, is desirable.
- A patient, calm, and flexible approach to teaching and behavior management.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
