- Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal value.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Identify and assess potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and other criteria.
- Draft and manage purchasing contracts.
- Maintain accurate records of pricing, purchase orders, and quote agreements.
- Analyse performance data, usage, and cost, to inform procurement strategies.
- Support the development of procurement strategies to enhance supply chain performance and reduce costs.
- Foster strong working relationships with both suppliers and internal departments.
- Manage purchase orders, handle invoices, and resolve discrepancies.
- Track shipments and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely stock delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and plan for warehouse/storage requirements.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential business or supply chain issues.
- Prepare and deliver annual procurement budgets.
- Continually educate yourself on market trends, new products, and industry best practices.
- CIPS qualification preferred.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong numerical skills, with proficiency in data recording and analysis.
- IT proficiency inc. Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
